Come as you are and simply sit, open your heart, deepen your breath, and your mind may quiet.
Susan Baker, Serenity Founder
Individual & Group Meditation

Serenity’s meditation practice is based on Jon Kabat Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) model. MBSR is a healing approach that combines meditation and mindfulness exercises, including body awareness through simple body movements and cultivation of the senses. Through breath work, guided body scans, and sensory-incorporated imagery led by trained professionals, you begin to achieve more life balance. MBSR teaches clients how to become more aware of their negative automatic thoughts and feelings that may contribute to stress, so you can get back to feeling whole.

In mindfulness meditation, there is no previous experience needed and no desired state of being. You come, without judgment, as you are. Clients simply strive to cultivate a greater awareness of the present moment. By increasing their connection to their breath and body, participants in MBSR strive to reduce their overall level of arousal and emotional reactivity, and gain a deeper sense of calm. Two Beautiful Meditation Rooms with Two Approaches to Healing:
Meditation Blue Zen:
Provides an introduction to Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) that focuses on detaching from thoughts and re-aligning oneself in the present moment with breath work and a centering Body Scan practice. We work through all of the senses of taste, smell, touch, sight, proprioception, and hearing, and give examples of calming and soothing relaxation exercises that can be incorporated into daily life.
Meditation Serenity Corner:
Provides an introduction to deep breath belly breathing, and gentle movement and stretching of the body into calming and restorative yoga poses. It will incorporate peaceful imagery exercises. It ends with an understanding of how to easily engage the body in simple, but refreshing exercises to restore clarity, improve body awareness, and to realign balance.
