David (Dave) Ewing

MSW, LGSW (He/Him/His)

Licensed Graduate Social Worker

& Mental Health Therapist

Dave is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) who brings a calm, compassionate presence and a grounded, relational approach to therapy. He believes that healing begins through authentic human connection, and that therapy can be a powerful space for processing pain, reclaiming identity, and building a more intentional life.

He received his Master of Social Work from Augsburg University in July 2025. His clinical style is rooted in humanistic and strengths-based principles, with a focus on creating a nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. He integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and experiential modalities, while consistently centering the mind-body connection in the healing process.

He supports individuals navigating anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and identity development. He has an interest in men’s mental health, sexuality, anger management, impulsivity, and trauma work. Clients often describe him as warm, thoughtful, and easy to talk to, someone who brings both structure and flexibility to the therapeutic relationship.

His path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by over 11 years of work in hospital and health center settings in guest services, security, inpatient behavioral health units, and working with those in crisis. He spent more than two and a half years working in the community with adults impacted by symptoms of severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), and he currently provides individual and group therapy through his work with the State of Minnesota. These experiences gave him a front-row seat to human struggle, moments of crisis, grief, and resilience, and continue to inform the trauma-informed lens he brings into therapy. Dave has seen how difficult life events leave a lasting imprint, and he works to create space where those experiences can be processed with care and dignity. This background also gives him a strong foundation for working with individuals in high-pressure roles, including first responders, as he understands the intensity, complexity, and emotional toll that often accompany high-stress environments.

Outside the therapy room, Dave finds grounding in time outdoors, yoga, running, spending time with friends and family, and practicing the same values he helps his clients explore: presence, authenticity, and meaningful connection.
